Max Reinhardt with sounds of many frequencies, including Venezuelan birdsong, music for microtonal tuba, and a debut orchestral piece from New York improviser Ingrid Laubrock.

Up top, melodies from the Venezuelan jungle, from a reissue of French ornithologist Jean C. Roch茅鈥檚 1973 collection of birdsong.

We鈥檝e Grace Petrie鈥檚 contemporary take on a folk classic, a debut orchestral work from New York improviser Ingrid Laubrock, and a preview of the London Jazz Festival.

And Berlin group Tonaliens prop up the low end of the mix with drone music featuring a microtonal tuba.
