Internationally acclaimed pianist Paul Lewis continues his two year recital series revealing connections between Haydn, Beethoven and Brahms.

Brahms's Op.116 Fantasies are characteristic of his late works, at once introspective and melancholy, qualities shared by parts of Haydn鈥檚 C minor Sonata; Beethoven's Op.33 Bagatelles are his first set, a series of miniature distillations of his piano style, by turns humorous, dramatic and improvisatory. They're contrasted with Haydn's last and most expansive sonata, the form which Beethoven came to dominate.
