Dairy Farmers have been told by Tesco they can no longer keep calves in pens on their own because it's better for them to be in pairs. Some farmers feel the supermarket's bowing to activists. Charles Goadby from Warwickshire says he uses single pens because it's better for the calves' welfare.
High timber prices should encourage farmers to plant more trees. According to the Confederation of Forest Industries, there's never been a better time to diversify with forestry, and they say it's good for the environment too.
American farmers are to be subsidised to the tune of 867 billion dollars over the next 10 years. Congress has just approved the American Farm Bill.
