Live from Maida Vale Studios in London, Petroc Trelawny presents Radio 3's classical breakfast show and announces the winner of the 2018 Radio 3 Breakfast Carol Competition.Earlier this year, amateur composers were challenged to create new music for a poem – The Bee Carol - by UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Hundreds of entries were whittled down to just 6 by a panel of expert judges, including the Master of the Queen’s Music Judith Weir, and Principal Guest Conductor of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Singers Bob Chilcott. For the last week, listeners have been voting for their favourite, and the winner of the most votes will be revealed by Petroc during the last hour of the programme. He is joined by the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Singers, conducted by Bob Chilcott, who will perform the winning carol live, as well as some traditional Christmas favourites.
The winning competition carol will be broadcast throughout the Christmas period as part of the seasonal celebrations on on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 3.
