Mary Anne has Songhoy Blues live in session, the Malian band released their acclaimed debut album Music in Exile in 2015 and the follow up, Resistance, arrived in June 2017.

Mary Anne has Songhoy Blues live in session, the Malian band released their acclaimed debut album 'Music in Exile' in 2015 and the follow up, 'Resistance' arrived in June 2017.

The band are steeped in the deep traditions of classic Malian music & desert blues but equally fused with a youthful & super-charged sound of today.

The band have been firm 6 Music Favourites for a few years and turned out an incredible live show at the 6 Music Festival in Glasgow, 2017. .

Whereas their debut album discussed the problems faced by the the people of Mali, their second full length,, 'Resistance' was a celebration of the band's homeland and a wildly successful ode to the African continent, from the beauty of the Sahara to the brilliant nightlife in Bamako.

2019 sees the release of their new album and rumour has it, they'll be debuting an exclusive new track in this session.
