Independent Venue Week: Bedford with Tim Burgess

As part of Indie Venue Week Steve heads to Bedford where he's joined by Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, who's playing live at the Esquires venue that night in support of IVW.

As part of Indie Venue Week Steve heads to Bedford where he's joined by Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, who's playing live at the Esquires venue that night in support of IVW. The show will be looking at Esquires, a 300 capacity venue established in 1984.

Independent Venue Week (IVW) returns for its 6th year and, to celebrate, Steve Lamacq tours five locations around the UK and shines a light on the alternative music scene in each place, highlighting the grassroots music venues that have become the bedrock of the local area.

This year, Steve will be broadcasting from Edinburgh, York, Worcester, London and - tonight 鈥� continues the week in Bedford. Broadcasting live from 大象传媒 Three Counties, Steve will be looking at Bedford's musical heritage and there'll be a session from a local 大象传媒 Music Introducing artist.

Founded in 2014 as a way to celebrate the heroes that own and run small venues all across the country, Independent Venue Week has grown massively in six years. Starting out with just 17 venues in 2014, it has grown this year to over 200 venues. The project will run from Monday 28th January - Sunday 3rd February 2019.
