Mary Anne has a 3 Minute Epiphany from the legendary songwriter, Salif Keita, who is retiring from recording after 50 years making music.

His final album 鈥楿n Autre Blanc鈥, is a self produced release built with a family of Pan-African and French collaborators and the album picks up the fight for justice for people, such as Salif, who spend their lives living with albinism.

One of the giants of African music, Salif's extraordinary career has spanned five decades and changed the musical landscape forever. Born a prince, Salif was exiled from his village by his family at a young age for the white colour of his skin 鈥 seen as a sign of bad luck in Mandinka culture. He moved to the Malian capital Bamako in 1967 at 18 and joined Mali's legendary Rail Band. Over the last fifty years his work has spanned genres and influenced generation after generation of musician.
