Mary Anne has The Comet Is Coming in session ahead of their much anticipated performance at the 6 Music Festival in Liverpool. The band is comprised of King Shabaka, Danalogue and Betamax and they set the stage alight at any gig they play, so we can't wait to welcome them into the 6 Music Live Room.

The band formed in London in 2013, after they discovered a shared love for Sun Ra, Hendrix, Can, the LA beat scene, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Death Grips and their 2016 album Channel The Spirits was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize.

Shabaka Hutchings aka King Shabaka also leads Sons of Kemet, and has played with Sun Ra Arkestra, Floating Points, Mulatu Astatke and Heliocentrics
