Relax with an eclectic classical mix
In Tune's specially curated playlist: featuring favourites by Mussorgsky, Debussy and Sibelius, and, lesser-known gems by Steve Reich, Anthony Kerr and Jonathan Dove.
A yearning, questing mood permeates much of tonight's music with a song by percussionist Anthony Kerr "Where are you?" sung hauntingly by Jacqui Dankworth, and Jonathan Dove's ecstatic anthem for chorus and organ "Seek Him that maketh the Seven Stars". Wander around the Desert with the music of Steve Reich, or glide upon the water with the Swan of Tuonela by Sibelius. Mussorgsky's cheeky chicks try and peck their way out of their shells in Pictures at an Exhibition, perhaps inspired by the pizzicato strings in Debussy's lively Quartet.
The perfect way to usher in your evening.
