Peace Direct
Peace Direct works with communities around the world to end and prevent conflict. We support local organisations in places such as Sudan, Somalia and Sri Lanka to provide people with the things they need to build more hopeful futures for their families and communities. We’re locally-led because we believe that local people are best placed to solve the conflicts which affect them and their communities, and therefore to build long-lasting peace.
A local approach
We work with grassroots organisations in places such as Nigeria and DR Congo to provide people like Josephine, whose story features in our appeal, with the opportunity to overcome and prevent conflict within their own communities.
Bridging divides
Challenging violence
In areas of Pakistan, attacks continue against schools, and violence is directed at those wishing to continue their education. We work in partnership with a local organisation dedicated to stopping the spread of dangerous ideologies in schools, teaching young people how they can choose peace over violence.
