My Reason to Run
Gabby Logan looks ahead to the 39th London Marathon, meeting some of the athletes who make it so special.
Gabby Logan looks ahead to the 39th London Marathon, one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the sporting calendar, and meets some of the athletes who make it so special. Over 40,000 people will cover the 26.2-mile course around the streets of London, and every one of them has their own unique reason why they are running. Fun runners of all abilities, ages and backgrounds are raising money for many charitable causes, helping make it such an inspirational day. Ahead of them will be the elite runners, including Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah, who is aiming to win his home marathon for the first time, while Vivian Cheruiyot is back to defend her women鈥檚 crown. In the wheelchair event, eight-time winner David Weir will be competing for the 20th consecutive year.
The London Marathon is live tomorrow from 0830 on 大象传媒2. For more advice on how to take up running and details of clubs near you, go to bbc.co.uk/getinspired.
