Alejandro Escovedo is a Mexican-American musician. He joins Johnnie to chat about his life in the 1970s.
Alejandro has been writing and performing since the 1970s, his first band was a punk outfit called The Nuns, based in San Francisco. He's most closely associated with the music scene in Austin, Texas. His main instrument is the guitar and he has played punk, rock, roots rock and country styles during his career. He's collaborated with many other artists over the years including singer-songwriter Ryan Adams.
His latest album is called 'The Crossing'.
