"Quirky and volatile" are the characteristics picked up by Mark-Anthony Turnage in his vibrant tribute to friend and fellow composer Steve Martland - an energetic and percussive memorial written for the virtuoso percussionist Colin Currie. In this concert from Glasgow's City Halls Martyn Brabbins also conducts the 大象传媒 SSO in Shostakovich's Stalin-haunted 10th Symphony, and Stravinsky's Debussy-haunted Symphonies of Wind Instruments.
