Diageo drinks company pulls its sponsorship from rugby club after signing Paddy Jackson. Did the company make the right decision?
Paddy Jackson, the former Ireland and Ulster rugby player, is at the centre of another controversy this morning after the drinks giant Diageo pulled their sponsorship from his new club London Irish.
Jackson was found not guilty of rape last year, but had his contract revoked by the Irish Rugby Football Union.
That was due to social media and text messages revealed in the rape trial last April.
A spokesperson for Diageo said they met with the club to express concerns.
"Their recent decision is not consistent with our values and so we have ended our sponsorship."
But did the company make the right decision?
Also on the show, journalist Sam McBride shares new insight into the ‘cash for ash’ RHI Scandal in upcoming book.
