At the fag end of glam and before the snarling arrival of punk and the glitterball polyester of disco, there was a musical movement created by those who worshipped Bowie, Roxy Music, Northern Soul and Funk.
They shimmied, sashayed and dressed sharp. And their mecca was a small town in County Down. They were the ‘Young Americans.’
