Richard Carpenter picks his Tracks of My Years

Richard Carpenter picks his Tracks of My Years with music from The Beatles and Nat King Cole. There's the daily love song plus more spills and thrills on PopMaster.

Richard Carpenter, one half of the sibling duo The Carpenters, chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from The Beatles and Nat King Cole. With a trademark sound highlighted by Richard's multi-layered production and sister Karen's timeless voice, The Carpenters set a new standard for melodic pop becoming the top-selling American artists of the 1970's. Some fifty years on, they remain among the best-selling legacy acts worldwide. In December last year the newly produced "Carpenters With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra" was released with fresh orchestrations augmenting the original recordings. The album features timeless hits and favourites, pairing the duo's original vocal and instrumental tracks with new arrangements from Richard, conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus more from the legendary music quiz that is PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
