It's American Independence Day, and Kristian Bush from Sugarland is here to celebrate with the best in country music old & new, including a 4th of July classic from Martina McBride.

As regular presenter Bob Harris takes a break, Kristian kicks off a month of guest hosts for The Country Show, a month that will see him followed by country superstars Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town and Trisha Yearwood.

Kristian Bush is a multi-award winning, multi-faceted artist. As one half of superstar country duo Sugarland with Jennifer Nettles he has sold over 14 million records in the US alone, and as a solo artist stayed on the US singles chart for over a year with his contemporary classic "Trailer Hitch". He has also written music for film and video games, and as a producer most recently created a chart-topping album with singer & guitarist Lindsay Ell.

He is a seasoned Radio 2 presenter, helming "A Country Christmas" for the station, and, since 2014, has hosted coverage of the the annual CMA Music Festival, which returns to Radio 2 in October.
