Highlights of the opening round of the 148th Open Championship from Royal Portrush, the first time a Northern Irish course has hosted the event since 1951, some 68 years ago.

Rory McIlroy starts the event as one of the favourites. The 30-year-old鈥檚 local knowledge could prove invaluable as he begins his quest for a second Claret Jug having first lifted the famous trophy in 2014.

Situated on Antrim鈥檚 north coast, the venue has a fearsome reputation as one of the toughest links courses in the world. Indeed, when Royal Portrush last hosted the event in 1951 only two players finished under par.
