London Anniversary Games - Day 1

Diamond League action from the London Stadium, featuring Laura Muir, Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Jonnie Peacock.

The London Stadium is once more sprinkled with stardust as world-class 1500m runner Laura Muir and a host of other global greats compete on day one of this Diamond League meeting.

Muir, who retained her 1500m and 3000m European indoor titles in March, rose to the top of the world rankings after a strong start to the outdoor season. She faces a serious examination of her credentials in London against the likes of Kenya鈥檚 Olympic and world champion Faith Kipyegon and Ethiopian pair Gudaf Tsegay and Dawit Seyaum.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson is another Briton in the form of her career, having setting a lifetime-best score to win the revered Gotzis Meeting in May. The Liverpudlian competes over 200m on Saturday.

The men鈥檚 100m features former world champion Yohan Blake, triple Olympic medallist Andre De Grasse and Britain鈥檚 respective European gold and silver medallists Zharnel Hughes and Reece Prescod. Other highly decorated athletes in action include para sprinter Jonnie Peacock, triple jumper Christian Taylor and sprint hurdler Sally Pearson.

Gabby Logan introduces the action, while Steve Cram leads the commentary team.
