Rich Romantic lieder including Wagner's Wesendonck lieder plus songs by Strauss and Barber, performed by Amber Wagner and Malcolm Martineau, live at the Edinburgh Festival.
Live from the Queen鈥檚 Hall, American soprano Amber Wagner joins Edinburgh-born pianist Malcolm Martineau for a selection of rich romantic song. They begin with a selection of Bellini鈥檚 three small arias, followed by Strauss鈥 Four Last songs, written when he was in his 80s. After the interval Amber performs songs by fellow Americans Barber and Ives, before closing the recital with Wagner鈥檚 five song settings of poetry by Mathilde Wesendonck. Presented by Donald Macleod.
