Verdi's Requiem

大象传媒 National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and conductor Richard Farnes, perform Verdi's Requiem, with soloists Vlada Borovko, Jennifer Johnston, David Butt Philip and David Soar.

The 大象传媒 National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales, under the baton of Richard Farnes, perform Giuseppe Verdi's celebrated Requiem, one of the most dramatic works of the genre. Written to mark the death of Italian writer Alessandro Manzoni, Verdi's Requiem starts and ends with a whisper, but the grief, surprise, violence, and joy create all the power and craft of an Italian Romantic opera in one condensed, emotional narrative.

Presented by Nicola Heywood Thomas, live at St. David's Hall, Cardiff.
