Katy Brand and Rosh Hashanah

Comedian Katy Brand introduces her Dirty Dancing themed memoir 'I Carried A Watermelon' and we celebrate Jewish New Year.

Comedian, actor and writer Katy Brand joins Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad to tell us about her new book. Part memoir, part homage to her favourite movie Dirty Dancing, 'I Carried A Watermelon' explores how the film has influenced her. Plus we hear from Katy about her experience of faith, as an evangelical Christian when she was a teenager.

We celebrate Rosh Hashanah with Jewish comedian Rachel Creeger. Rachel shares how she'll be celebrating the Jewish New Year, plus she's promised to bring in a shofar, the instrument blown as part of the festival, and demonstrate her very best horn blowing!

Plus we'll be hearing from a dementia-friendly music festival held in Manchester for 大象传媒 Music Day 2019, celebrating the creativity of people living with dementia and the power of music to connect with loved ones. Our Charity Champion tells us how they use music therapy in their work with people older people in specialist care homes.
