New report reveals almost 30,000 medical testing procedures were carried out on live animals in 2018 in NI. Do you agree with animal testing?

Is it time to end animal testing in Northern Ireland? A new report from the Department of Health has revealed that 28,790 medical testing procedures were carried out on live animals in 2018. That is up from 24,756 the previous year. A near 20% rise. Animal rights campaigners have criticised the numbers, but do you agree? Or do possible benefits for our own health outweigh the negatives? Vinny spoke to campaigner Daniel Barclay and commentator Irwin Armstrong.

Also on the programme, "A gentle 'every body's uncle' sort of man", Father Brian D'Arcy pays tribute to broadcasting legend Gay Byrne. As you'll have heard in the news - the broadcaster Gay Byrne has died at the age of 85. He had been ill for some time. Many will remember him as the presenter of The Late Late Show which first aired on RTE back in 1962. Gay spoke to Stephen on this programme a few years ago. Vinny spoke to Father Brian D'Arcy.

Plus, more speculation over pacts and alliances in the forthcoming Westminster election. The former Ulster Unionist chairman David Campbell has called on the party to stand aside in South Belfast to allow the DUP's Emma Little-Pengelly to hold on to the seat. It comes after Sinn Fein decided not to run in the constituency, where the SDLP's Claire Hanna and Alliance's Paula Bradshaw are hoping to secure the remain vote. The Green Party is rumoured to be backing Claire Hanna's bid. When Steve Aiken was asked by the 大象传媒 political correspondent whether the party would stand in South Belfast, he wouldn't confirm either way. Vinny spoke to Green Party NI leader Clare Bailey and Former UUP chairman David Campbell.
