More about the programme
For some they're heroes. For others they're a public nuisance.
But just what do Extinction Rebellion聽protestors want and how far are they willing to go?
Eye On Wales talks to three XR activists:
Roger Hallam is a co-founder of the movement and runs an organic farm near Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire. He's currently out on bail in Wales and is聽being charged聽with聽conspiracy to cause a public 聽nuisance for allegedly flying a toy drone at head height at Heathrow Airport.
63 year old Hugh Thomas from Barry聽has joined the movement because he fears for his grandson's future. He's been arrested four times so far, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to secure a safer future for his grandson.
38 year old Sian Stephen has two young children. She is also worried about her children's future. Her parents were Welsh language activists and they achieved change through direct action and civil disobedience. Sian is following in their footsteps, but using direct action to put climate change centre stage.
