Nashville: The Music Makers
Stories and insights from father and son Jerry and Gordon Kennedy, their involvement with legendary Nashville recording sessions and some of the biggest country songs in history.
A conversation with father and son Jerry and Gordon Kennedy who are part of Country Music history. Between them they've played on legendary Nashville recording sessions, produced and written some key records and picked up Grammy Awards.
Jerry Kennedy is a record producer, musician and record company executive. He's been part of sessions for Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jeannie C. Riley, Tom T Hall, Bob Dylan and Reba McEntire. Jerry's guitar playing defined the sound of Roy Orbison's Oh, Pretty Woman and Tammy Wynette's Stand By Your Man. He was also responsible for signing Roger Miller to Mercury Records and for his early success.
Jerry's son Gordon Kennedy has followed in his father's footsteps as a session musician and has also enjoyed a successful writing career with songs cut by Eric Clapton, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Ricky Skaggs, Carrie Underwood, Bonnie Raitt and Wynonna Judd.
Ricky explores Jerry and Gordon's amazing careers and the shared love of music that connects their family.
