Age UK research published today suggests Christmas is the loneliest time of the year for over 1.5 million older people.
But it's not just the older generation. A survey released today by SSAFA (that's the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association) says loneliness is a particular problem for those in the Army, Navy or RAF. The survey suggests a quarter of service men and women are experiencing loneliness right now in the run up to Christmas. Of those polled, two thirds of those serving said they spend Christmas without loved ones most years.
The same survey suggests younger people, aged 16 to 35, NOT serving in the armed forces are also increasingly feeling lonely.
We'll be exploring that research and hearing your experience. Call us from 11am on 03 700 100 444 - how do you overcome loneliness? Or email us now - youandyours@bbc.co.uk and don't forget to leave your phone number, so we can contact you.
