Knockout week continues. Monica Galetti and Marcus Wareing scrutinise the chefs’ every move in their bid to uncover the professional to crown champion of 2019.

Only ten outstanding chefs remain in the competition, and they are now split into two groups of five. Tonight, the first group is set two daunting challenges by Monica and Marcus.

In a new event, the five chefs are taken to Pergola, a rooftop location in west London, where the judges announce the first ever MasterChef pop-up challenge. In three hours, with limited equipment and facilities, the chefs have to show off their versatility and style, creating and serving a dish that will win over the judges and the specially invited guests. The diners are stars of the UK's street food and pop-up scene. In a further twist, the guests are asked to vote for their favourite dish. The chef with the most votes will sail straight through to the semi-finals.

Back at the MasterChef kitchen, the remaining four chefs are pitted against each other in a critical cook-off. They have 90 minutes to create a dish that is exceptional enough to propel them into the penultimate week, and Marcus, Monica and Gregg will decide which three chefs join the pop-up winner and make it through to the semi-finals and which one faces the hard road home.
