Jennifer Lucy Allan welcomes in the new year with fresh releases, revitalised sounds and private press gems including a lost cassette from the 90s by Sahwari musicians El Wali, new releases from Indonesian cassette label Hasana Editions and a meeting of sound poetry and chamber music on Sean McCann鈥檚 Recital Records.

Elsewhere we sink our teeth into the debut EP by Robin Richards from Dutch Uncles, which features Gregorian chant, rhythm-led music concr猫te and a limited edition doughnut which, in keeping with the EP, blends Welsh and Estonian influences.
