Classical music for focus and inspiration

In Tune鈥檚 specially curated playlist, an eclectic mix of music including Rzewski, Ethel Smyth, Shostakovich and Beethoven.

Frederick Rzewski's set of Variations on the Chilean protest song "The People United Will Never Be Defeated" forms the backbone of today's mixtape. Interspersed between each variation is music that ties in with the idea of people joining together in solidarity. We hear Ethel Smyth's March of the Women, the exuberant Finale of Dvorak's "American" String Quartet, John Adams' chorus from Nixon in China "The People are the Heroes Now", the visceral 2nd movement of Shostakovich's Symphony No 10 and the joyous finale of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
