The Cruise is a 6 week, hour long voyage on board a luxury yacht skippered by Capt. Steven Rainey. Admission is free yet very exclusive and the soundtrack is yacht-rock, soft-rock and easy listening. Hall and Oates, Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers rule the waves as the ship takes to the sea, you can hear the caws of the gulls as your captain encourages listeners to bring their requests direct from their VIP cabins to the rest of the passengers.
Hosted by a fake salty captain on a fake cruise ship, with sound effects a-plenty, it鈥檚 a laid back and informative listen celebrating the amazing and rich music from the west coast of America in the 70鈥檚 and 80鈥檚. This music is currently undergoing a real revival with bands such as Haim, Vulfpeck and Toro Y Moi showing their obvious debt to this era of incredibly well-produced and hugely evocative music.
