The Shires perform live
The Shires perform live in the Radio 2 Piano Room and Nicole Scherzinger picks her Tracks of My Years. Plus Ken has another round of the PopMaster music quiz.
The Shires perform live in the Radio 2 Piano Room with music from their new album Good Years. They formed in 2013 and released their debut album Brave in 2015, becoming the first UK country act to chart in the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart. The group's second album, My Universe, became the fastest-selling UK country album in history when it was released in October 2016. Recorded as with all their previous albums in the home of Country Music - Nashville, Good Years is a poignant project for Crissie and Ben now having made huge waves both on home soil and across the pond as the first UK artists to win ‘Best International Act’ at the prestigious CMAs. This year they will embark on a 21-date nationwide tour. Kicking off in May, the duo are set to visit some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including the London Palladium, Bristol Academy, Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and Brighton’s Dome.
Nicole Scherzinger, the Pussycat Dolls lead singer and X Factor judge, picks her Tracks of My Years with songs from Emeli Sande and Labi Siffre. Pussycat Dolls have made their sensational return to music with the new single React. Co-written by Nicole and produced by Will Simms, Johan Gustafson and Ivares, React is a fiery ode to spicing up a stagnant relationship. The multi-platinum pop sensation are; Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta and Carmit Bachar. Their smash hit single Don't Cha is officially one of the UK's best-selling singles of all time. The group have sold more than 55 million records worldwide, been streamed over 3 billion times, had two wins at the MTV VMAs and achieved eight UK Top 10 singles. ln November last year Pussycat Dolls announced they are back and reuniting for a UK tour, their first live performances in over a decade. They are taking their Pussycat Dolls 2020 Tour on the road next year, hitting arenas across the UK, calling at Dublin, Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds and London.
