Intimate fortepiano works by Mozart and Beethoven

Chamber music from fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout and the SCO strings.

From the Queen鈥檚 Hall in Edinburgh, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra strings join the outstanding fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout for a programme of chamber music. The concert begins with a work from Mozart鈥檚 early years in Vienna, his keyboard sonata in C major KV 309. Then follows Beethoven鈥檚 trailblazing Piano Trio in C minor, a work written to challenge Vienna鈥檚 musical elite, with its explosive contrasts and yearning lyricism. Mozart's enterprising Piano Concerto in A K414, an intimate work for keyboard and either orchestra or string quartet accompaniment closes the recital.
