Episode 2
Jay Blades and the team rejuvenate a jukebox, a stowaway bike, a lantern clock and a lifeboat compass.
Jay Blades and the team bring four treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life.
Widower Geoff Clark from Sunderland is hoping audio expert Mark Stuckey can restore a beloved jukebox that holds memories of a very special person. He bought the 1960s jukebox over 40 years ago, around the time he met his late wife, Marie. The two shared a love of music and the jukebox gave them both such joy, even providing the entertainment at their wedding reception. Since Geoff lost Marie to cancer seven years ago, he has found it too painful to listen to the jukebox, and over time the machine has become inoperable. Mark opens up this huge dusty vault of memories and calls in metal expert Dominic Chinea to give the exterior body work a complete overhaul.
Engineer Frank Black from Glasgow has brought in the Repair Shop's oldest item yet: a 400-year-old wall clock that has laid broken in a box under the stairs for nearly 70 years. Horologist Steve Fletcher relishes every part of the extensive restoration of this impressive clock, as he reveals the various issues and previous fixes.
Sisters Sue and Kath Coffey from Reading wheel in a childhood favourite that is in desperate need of the expert tinkering of vintage bike restorer Tim Gunn. The 1960s bike travelled all over the world with the sisters and their family following their diplomat father. And silversmith Brenton West welcomes Jo Blackwell from Chichester, who is hoping he can navigate his way through the repair of a seafaring souvenir. Jo is the proud owner of the compass from the lifeboat that saved the lives of her grandparents, father and uncles back in 1939.
