The history of ordinary folk in Derrykeighan Parish and a breath of fresh air from the coast on board “Kintra”

The history of ordinary folk in Derrykeighan Parish, a breath of fresh air from the coast on board the “Kintra” and music from Alan Wade and Mervyn Dunlop.

When ‘social distancing’ was a thing of the future, Diana Culbertson visited Frank McClernon to hear about a local history project that ‘visited’ every family in Derrykeighan Parish over the years. Now she has more time on her hands over the next while, Frank encourages her to record her own family story for the future.
For a breath of fresh air for the days when you’re cooped up, Willie Hill enjoys a trip out on the good ship “Kintra” - that’s actually a catamaran. A few weeks ago, he and skipper Charles Stuart headed out from Ballycastle down towards Fairhead for a different perspective on the coastline of Co Antrim. The nautical theme continues with music from Alan Wade and Mervyn Dunlop.
The team loves to hear from listeners – so why not get in touch with a yarn or maybe even suggest a tune you’d love to hear – you can email them at kintra@bbc.co.uk
