Kim Lenaghan finds out how local food producers, growers and chefs are responding to the pandemic.

Easter for food lovers is a time for spring lamb and chocolate, but this year will be very different.
With restaurants, hotels and many other food businesses closed, how are the growers, producers and chefs coping?
In the Glens of Antrim, life on the farm must go on, but Eamonn Matthews has had to find new ways to sell his lamb. Like many local suppliers, he’s begun a delivery service. Eamonn tells Kim about the challenges he’s facing, and how he’s trying to turn a negative into a positive so that families can still enjoy a traditional Easter lunch. Likewise, Gavin and Keelin Fraser of Crossgar found themselves with fields of fresh vegetables that they couldn’t sell, Chocolatier Deirdre McMcCanny had to pull the shutters down on her Belfast shop – and chef and restaurateur Tony O’Neill has had to close two restaurants. Kim finds out how many have now turned to social media as an outlet for both their produce and their skills, and discovers that – at a time when we’re all staying apart - we’re coming together online to share a love of food as never before.
