Eddie Van Halen Tribute, Taylor Momsen & new AC/DC

Johnnie pays tribute to Eddie Van Halen . Plus, he's got the new AC/DC single and Taylor Momsen from the Pretty Reckless chooses her Rock God.

Plenty of guitarists dream of being described as an innovator or musical pioneer, but Eddie Van Halen achieved both in his career. On the 6th of October, the 65 year old six-string genius sadly died from cancer. The outpouring of adoration and appreciation from the music world and beyond has been quite incredible. Every rock star imaginable has paid tribute to his talent, technique and attitude to rock music. Johnnie will pay his own tribute tonight and play a track or two to salute a true maestro, who changed the sound of the rock guitar forever at the end of the 1970's.
Johnnie will also herald the return of the mighty AC/DC, back from the brink with a brand new single (and an album and beyond on the way next month).
Revealing her Rock God; Taylor Momsen from the Pretty Reckless. She's been with the band for over ten years, though many will remember her as an actress, she's given herself over to rock n' roll these days. The band's new album, 'Death By Rock n' Roll' was due out this year but has been postponed 'til 2021 due to the COVID pandemic. Taylor's Rock God is a truly deserved and its safe to say her chosen god may already be rather comfortable with the title.
Johnnie will also hail National Album Day for 'This Week In Rock' with a big number one album for U2.
