Episode 3
Ben Fogle tries to mend his relationship with Rio the cockatoo. Kate Humble discovers the legend of a giraffe super-gran. And can slow-mo cameras reveal feeding time in a new light?
Kate Humble and Ben Fogle are at Longleat for another day of animal magic.
On today's show, a specialist wildlife cameraman from the ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s Planet Earth series arrives to help keeper Kim see how some of her most impressive feeders tackle their dinner. But what happens when Bullseye the chameleon, who has a tongue four times faster than a fighter jet, just isn’t hungry?
Elsewhere in the park, Kate delves into the remarkable history of Mrs B – one of the original giraffes to arrive when the safari park opened in the 1960s. This super-mum has done more than her fair share to save this rare rothschild subspecies. Four hundred or so of her descendants are scattered all over the world. Some of them are still at the park, including one making Mrs B not just a super mum but a super gran!
Back in Animal Adventure, Ben is trying to rekindle his friendship with Rio the cockatoo. Can a gift of flowers build any bridges?
And there is a fond farewell up at the elephant house. After eight years of caring for Anne the elephant, today is keeper Ross’s last day on the job. As he prepares to say goodbye, he has got one last treat for her - her favourite food, stinging nettles.
