Johnnie's your man for another expertly-curated blast of solid '70s music nostalgia.

Johnnie's your man for another expertly-curated blast of solid '70s music nostalgia.

Our newest entry into Johnnie’s Jukebox has been chosen by Julie Rattray from Dumbarton, and she reckons it’s ‘pure dead brilliant’. Bringing back happy memories of those teenage years growing up in Lossiemouth, it’s a spiky pop gem from 1978 by a bunch of fellow Scots.

'This Week In Music' features a classic song that topped the US Country chart in 1974, a punk anthem that almost made no.1 during the Silver Jubilee celebrations, and an upcoming singer-songwriter who signed his record deal in New York in 1972.

There’s the biggest-ever ‘70s chart hit from birthday boy Sir Tom Jones. And following the sad news that bass player Steve Priest has passed away, the show opener comes from his band The Sweet.

Plus we pay tribute to the millions of carers across the country ahead of the national charity Carers Week, which begins on June 8, with loads of requests, dedications and stories, all sent in by you, for Johnnie and Tiggy to share across the show.
