Vivaldi's L'estro armonico with Andrew McGregor and Hannah French

Hannah's recommendation for recordings of one of Vivaldi's best-loved sets of concertos, L'estro armonico, and Gilllian Moore's pick of recent releases of contemporary music

Our recommendation for recordings of one of Vivaldi's best-loved sets of concertos, as well as Gilllian Moore's pick of recent releases of contemporary music.

9.30am
Building a Library
Hannah French joins Andrew with her personal recommendation from dozens of recordings of L'estro armonico, a set of twelve string concertos published in 1711. As with all early music, there is a huge range of styles and approaches, from the 1960s to recordings made in the last couple of years.

10.40am
Gillian Moore with her pick of music from the last ten years-or-so, including some of the innovative ways composers and performers have surmounted many of the difficulties of this year's lockdown restrictions.

11.15am
Record of the Week
Andrew's choice of the week's most exciting new release.
