The rock superstar turns DJ with a mix of records from his own collection

Bruce turns DJ in this new series, recorded at his home in New Jersey where he's currently in lockdown with his wife Patti Scialfa. He plays an hour of his favourite artists.

We've all had to learn new things during the pandemic, and rock superstar Bruce Springsteen is no exception! Locked down at his home in new Jersey, alongside wife Patti Scialfa, he's turned himself into a radio DJ, and the result is this new Radio 2 series.

Broadcasting from his house, each week Bruce will be playing an hour of - as he describes them - "topical tunes for hard times", an eclectic mix of records from his own collection that he loves, and talking about the strange days that we find ourselves in. In this second programme you can hear music from the Bee Gees, Tupac Shakur George Jones, Marvin Gaye & The Temptations alongside some of Bruce's own songs.

He also pays tribute to his friend John Prine, who died from Covid 19 earlier in the summer, talks movingly about his mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's, and offers some thoughts and hopes for the way ahead , all delivered with the good humour & engagement of a master communicator, whatever the medium.
