Colin Currie and friends in recital from the Queen鈥檚 Hall, including a work by Steve Reich dedicated to Scottish-born Colin Currie. From the Edinburgh International Festival 2015.

Every weekday for three weeks, Radio 3 broadcasts one of the stand-out concerts from the Queen鈥檚 Hall recital series over the past decade. Today Donald Macleod introduces Colin Currie and friends in an exhilarating recital from 2015 including Steve Reich鈥檚 Quartet for two vibraphones and two pianos, dedicated to Scottish-born Colin Currie. The recital also includes Adams's work for two pianos, Hallelujah Junction, and a musical response to poetry by Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin. The concert concludes with Bartok's masterpiece for two pianos and percussion.
