Mastertapes is a 大象传媒 Radio 4 series in which John Willson talks to leading performers and songwriters about the album that made them or changed them.

In the first of a three-part series made for 大象传媒 Radio 4 Extra, John goes behind the scenes of the iconic 大象传媒 studios at Maida Vale in London where over 40 episodes of Mastertapes were recorded.

For starters, John returns to the very first series recorded in 2012, which features:
