Roger Glover
Roger Glover from Deep Purple reveals his Rock God, and Johnnie marks 50 years since the death of one of the greatest guitar legends of the 20th Century for This Week In Rock.
Roger Glover is the focus of this week's Rock God...his choice isn't obvious, but his chosen artist is one he's worked with during his long and varied career.
Welsh-born Roger joined Deep Purple as bassist in 1969 and stayed with the band 'til 1973. He left to work on his career as a producer with the likes of Nazareth, Judas Priest and Status Quo. As well as releasing solo work, Roger joined Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow in 1979, where he stayed 'til Deep Purple reunited in 1984.
Deep Purple recently released their 21st album, 'Whoosh!', which made it into the top five in the UK album charts.
Also on the show, Johnnie marks 50 years since the death of one of the greatest guitar legends of the 20th Century for 'This Week In Rock'.
