Welsh Beef is set to be served on American plates for the first time in twenty years. But while that maybe good news for some, calls to amend the Agriculture Bill to include protections of food and welfare standards were rejected in the House of Commons this week. MPs who voted against the House of Lord's amendments claim that they are already protected in law but others believe that it could pave the way for lower standard meat flooding in from America.
