Johnnie鈥檚 here with another two hours of lovingly-curated tracks from the decade.

This week, we revisit a poignant 2019 interview with singer-songwriter John Prine.

Prine passed away earlier this Spring from Covid-19, but his chat with Johnnie last year showed that he still had so much great music to come. This week, a special edition 7-CD boxset has been released containing all of his albums that came out between 1971 and 1980, so it seems like the perfect time to once again spotlight his outstanding, unique skills as a lyricist and performer.

We鈥檙e back in the archives for more interesting stories from This Week In Music, including the arrival of the first British punk single, a movie premiere starring one of the biggest pop pinups of the decade, and a new no.1 on the American album chart for a soul legend.

Song no.379 makes its way into Johnnie's Jukebox, thanks to listener Andrew Downey, and it鈥檚 a debut single from one of Britain鈥檚 best bands during the late-70s.
