PopMaster and Christine McVie
Christine McVie, formerly of Fleetwood Mac, picks the Tracks of My Years in an interview first broadcast in 2013. There's the daily love song plus another round of PopMaster.
Christine McVie, best known as one of the three vocalists and keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac, picks the Tracks of My Years in an interview first broadcast in 2013. She first joined the band in 1970 while married to founder member John McVie and left in 1998 shortly after the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Following her decision to move on, Christine lived in semi retirement for nearly fifteen years releasing only one solo album in 2004. She appeared on stage with Fleetwood Mac at London's O2 Arena in September 2013 and re-joined the band the following year ready for Fleetwood Mac's On With The Show Tour. Later that year she received the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.
In 2017 Christine teamed up with fellow vocalist from Fleetwood Mac Lindsey Buckingham and released an album entitled 'Buckingham/McVie'. Four of the five "classic members" of the band featured on the album; vocalist Stevie Nicks was the only member absent. The album sold over 22,000 copies in the United States in its first week and debuted within the top 20. It proved to be even more successful in Britain, where it debuted within the top 5. The album was eventually certified silver with sales exceeding 60,000 copies. That same year Christine came to Wogan House and performed live in the Radio 2 Piano Room with Ken. You can still watch her performance on the 大象传媒 Music Youtube Channel.
The next two tracks she has chosen come from Prince and Buckingham Nicks. Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus more from the legendary PopMaster music quiz. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
