Simon Gregson - Steve McDonald from Coronation Street - chooses All New Tracks of My Years as the long-running soap gets set for its 60th anniversary. The much-loved TV series was originally conceived by scriptwriter Tony Warren and entered production at Granada Television on 9th December 1960. It began with 13 pilot episodes and has since become a significant part of British culture. Simon's character first appeared on-screen in 1989. He arrived as part of the McDonald family along with his twin brother Andy (Nicholas Cochrane) and parents Liz (Beverley Callard) and Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson). Steve is currently Corrie's most married character, having been married seven times to five women. He has proven to be one of the most popular personalities on the Street in recent years due to high-profile storylines, such as his dodgy dealings with Jez Quigley and his explosive relationships with Karen McDonald and Tracy Barlow. He has received 17 awards for comedy and performance, plus a Legends of Industry Award.
The final two tracks Simon has chosen come from KT Tunstall and Talking Heads. Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of the legendary music quiz PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk.
