Celtic Connections Preview with Donald Shaw

Creative Producer of Celtic Connections, Donald Shaw, joins Bruce for a preview of the festival & Margaret Bennett sits down with one of Scotland's finest singers, Norman Kennedy.

Celtic Connections prides itself on bringing first-class artists from all over the world to Glasgow. Even though that won't be technically possible this year, the festival still has an incredible line up for their digital-first festival this January. Creative Producer of the festival, Donald Shaw, joins Bruce live to chat about the work going on behind the scenes to bring these incredible musicians to you at home.

And in the second hour, a conversation between two of Scotland's great singers. Margaret Bennett, a distinguished folklorist as well as an internationally recognised singer, sits down with Norman Kennedy - one of Scotland's finest ballad singers and quite possibly one of the very last people to learn songs directly from the great Jeannie Robertson. Now in his mid 80s, Norman lives in Vermont, but Margaret managed to catch up with him on his last trip to Scotland in 2018.
