Shores Of The Forth

Gary West gets on his bike to explore some of the piping links with the Firth of Forth, including our Pibroch of the Day composed for the opening of the Forth Road Bridge in 1964.

Gary West gets back on his bike to explore some of the piping links with the Firth of Forth, including our Pibroch of the Day, Farewell to the Queen's Ferry composed to mark the opening of the Forth Road Bridge in 1964. We revisit the roots of the modern pipe band concert, with a double helping of the Dysart and Dundonald Pipe Band on stage in Ballymena, Northern Ireland in 1983. Plus we also hear the pipe and song combination of Alan MacDonald & Margaret Stewart and a visit to Northumbria in the company of piper Kathryn Tickell.
