Lynda is on the warpath and Harrison offers his support.

Eddie’s still being treated as the village pariah for joining Darrington’s cast; Lynda just overheard him having his ear chewed off by Jim Lloyd in the shop and knows others feel the same about his disloyalty. Knowing his old shepherd role and the role of God haven’t been cast, Eddie re-offers his services but a sniffy Lynda turns him down, gloating to Kirsty after his departure that she knew he’d regret his actions. Later Kirsty discovers from Eddie what a nightmare it is working with the demanding Darrington director, Evangeline – he wishes he was back working for Lynda! Kirsty brokers peace between Lynda and Eddie. Lynda reluctantly admits she may have been a little peremptory in sacking Clarrie and offers her the post of wardrobe mistress. Eddie will come back to the show on one condition: if Lynda apologises to Clarrie. She agrees but only if Eddie spills the beans on Darrington.
Harrison calls unexpectedly on Alice and coos over Martha. Alice is suspicious. Harrison admits Chris asked him to come in case Alice was struggling. Alice is furious they think she can’t look after her own baby. She calms down when Harrison explains he isn’t judging her and hasn’t even told Fallon about her alcoholism. He thinks she’s doing really well and Chris adores her, he reminds her. Alice thanks him contritely for being Chris’s friend. He’s here for her too, Harrison insists.
Eddie divulges that the Darrington show is using exactly the same script as Ambridge. Lynda is outraged and vows the Darrington show must be stopped.
